Recognition for the Best Place to Volunteer 2018

On November 13, as part of its 2018 Annual Meeting, the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) presented, for the first time, the Recognition of the Best Place to Volunteer.

During the ceremony, Jorge Villalobos Grzybowicz, Executive President of Cemefi, said that the institution has had a wide trajectory in the promotion of volunteering. He recalled that the Hacesfalta portal was launched 16 years ago to link volunteers and civil organizations that required them. Since then, thousands of links have been made that have translated into voluntary work in favor of civil organizations and their causes.

He said that, in the year 2000, the Cemefi decided to create performance standards and, for this purpose, the diagnosis was designed to obtain the Socially Responsible Enterprese (SRE) Distinction and the Accreditation in Institutionality and Transparency for Civil Society Organizations. However, a standard for volunteering was needed.

The Recognition of the Best Place to Volunteer was born in 2018, in order to encourage institutions to enrich their recruitment, operation, retention and recognition processes for their volunteers. To deliver the Recognition, in its first edition, there was a committee of experts who analyzed the candidatures and considered that the following organizations should receive it:

Association for People with Cerebral Palsy

For encouraging, for more than 40 years, in a strategic way and with effective processes, the voluntary participation of citizens that contribute to improving the quality of life and the social integration of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

Homes Foundation

By offering, through effective policies and strategies, a volunteer program that links civil society, government and companies, generating value among them and fostering social cohesion in the communities.

ProEmpleo Productivo Foundation

For its commitment to integrate, in an effective way, procedures for the recruitment, integration, evaluation and recognition of volunteers, effectively channeling their experience and translating it into results that boost the productivity of people.

Peraj México

For making volunteering a space for links between university students and primary school students, curbing school dropout and developing the potential of children, through the incorporation of effective processes that strengthen the work of the volunteer.
